Right now fishbots are sorta still busted from the last major update (as far as I know. I dont do much fishing). Eventually someone will come up with a new one, hopefully based on autoterror.

Memory based stuff takes time. Alot of time. It's sorta like searching for a specific piece of hay in a haystack.

It's sorta like searching for a specific piece of hay in a haystack. searching addresses of the code etc... well i got a program that kinda might help.. its what i use to hack some games etc but it might help us here for geting these address faster, like when you fish the code is being used so therefor the address is open for being tracked down.. best to use this program in windower mode while fishing... search for on google...Tsearch easy program simple etc, but am sure you guys will check it out

The FFACT guys are experts at this stuff. They use artmoney alot. Most of the hard work comes from trying to find the initial memory addresses where game data is stored. Once an address is found, it is usually easy to find again when an update comes out.

Yeah, I was just over on Aeries' site (http://aeries.botanybay.net/) and he said his new bot (for the new fishing system) is just about ready to go, he's just waiting on AC Tools to come back up. ^^

Yeah, right now AC Tools might be your best bet. There are alot more people working on development for it than AutoIT. As far as I can tell, its pretty much just me working on autoit enhancements, and I work slow

haha there is nothing wrong with working slow...I mean, I'm sure you have a life outside scripting for FFXI It does seem to me that AutoIT is an easier language to learn than FFact (is it? I dunno, the code looks a little simpler (to a beginner like me at least )

FFACT isnt really a language. Its more of a helper program that reads FFXI memory and provides results to client programs such as AC Tools and Autoterror. Initially, autoit did not support FFACT in any way. Sure it was easy to use, but the best you could do with it was write blind scripts or crude pixel driven bots. I work on integrating FFACT support (and now FFXIRead support) into autoit. The result is a fork of autoit called autoterror. The idea behind autoterror is to combine the easy to learn (and in my opinion better than AC Tools) language of AutoIT with enhanced FFXI specific capabilities of FFACT and FFXIRead. I am the only person working on autoterror, or any FFACT related integration with autoit, so the going is slow. I rarely have time to extensively test my AT releases. Usually I only write code for AT on the weekends because I am tired from my full time job as a software engineer. I do the best I can, and I hope you guys can do cool things with my work.
