i want a text object to be painted over a primitive object but i don't know how to set the drawing order and the primitive is always drawn over the text. am i over looking something or is text then primitives the set drawing order?

Unfortunately this is a stupid issue with windower. There is no work-around, there is no fix. When they implemented primitives and textobjects in windower, they set the order as text, then primitives. They should have actually made a Z-Order based system which would have been semi-easy to implement, but it was kind of a rush-job just to get the stuff put in there. Expect to see improvements in 3.3 regarding this, and Tiny's working on a solution of his own.

Yeah, depending on how much time I have this weekend I may tackle this along with the texture loading problem. I'll have to see to what degree the windower will allow direct manipulation of primitives if at all.
