Hello, I'm new to this forum, I recently got windower and I'm looking for other way to enhance my experience.
I'm looking for a bot that will play a sound every time i recieve a /tell. So basically i can Seek Party, minimize the window and do other computer work (I'm a web developer), and when i get a /tell it will alert me with a sound.
This would be so useful to me, can anyone help?
This would save me so much time LFG as I'm a 65 Dark Knight, please help.
I just want this '/party <call>' to be sent to the server when i get a tell so I am alerted.
Also what program should i use to send the script and how do i set it up thanks.

I believe this is possible, all using Autoit. What you would first need to do,is identify when you get a tell. The first thing that comes to mind,is to do a pixelcheck for the color of tell text(pink).Set your chat in box in FFXI to be a constant size, then just define that as the area for your pixelcheck. When it finds the color you are looking for, then just have autoit send "/p <call>" to the game.
The real problem though,is that I don't think you will be able to minimize the game and keep this working.I believe the game window has to be in focus to do the pixelcheck and to send the alert sound. So while this might be effective if you wanna watch your favorite tv show while seeking,I don't think you will be able to do much with the computer while this is running.Maybe you could just have a script to automaticly maximize the game window every few mins so you can check, then reminimize.
If you already a developer, then just take a peek at the help file for Autoit. It is very thorough in explaining the different functions of Autoit, and how to use them.

The next version of AT will allow you to tell what kind of chat each line is. You will be able to tell if a line is an emote, party, ls, tell, system, or echo. So yeah, you will be able to do this eventually.
