Ok before I start I realize the following:
A) You are working for free. B) Lunar isn't your life. C) You do w/e the fuck you damn well please.
But regardless of all these things: dubboyu-tee-eef mate?
You said you where gonna release it around the holidays but it's already Feb 1st and I'm getting anxious.
Some come on now....release..........damn it.
I'm tired of using gimp ass ACtools for crafting ><

I know how you feel my friend I myself check this forum 10 times a day on regular intervals for an update and I am sure many others do the same thing. You need to understand that posting about it wont make it happen any sooner so please play nice and check this forum hourly just like the rest of us BEST of luck to the lunar team ^^

I am the lunar team. Starhawk writes some memory code, but thats a seperate project. I posted saying the update would be out around the holidays. That didn't happen. The memory code still isn't ready, and I can't really move forward without it.
Did I mention I'm working on Lunar alone yet? Lets put this in perspective. I spent the better part of 4 months working on the first release of Lunar. The update is about 50% new code. Add to that the job of hunting transient bugs in a downright terrible debugging environment (FFXI and the windower) and you are looking at a very large block of time.
Trust me, I wan't to update it as much as anyone. So we have a choice. I can release an incomplete busted version with some new untested features and virtually no game data support, or I can wait and release a (fairly) polished product.
Starhawk IM'd me last night saying he finally got an internet connection at his new place, so he can start writing memory code for me again. Until the new code is ready and I get my shit together, you guys are going to have to wait.

Oh yeah, I can't work on Lunar at work anymore. That was about 70% of the time I spent writing it in the first place.

The new code already does fix alot of the crashes. Its just no good without the memory stuff to back it up.

So all you need is the new memory codes?

tinyterror.proboards37.com/index.cgi?board=lunardiscussion&action=display&thread=1137421768&page=2In there is why its being "so long" I check these boards and the windower boards on a daily basis just like a lot of you guys do. But they both have their hands full. 1-2 man teams, working on something with as many flaws as FFXI has. I would imagine a lot of their time coding is trying to get around all the nuances of the FFXI "bad coding". Lunar is a bit different. Its amazing he hasn't just said, "I Quit, nevermind... too much pressure, not enough time." I would have done that a long time ago. However, coding, game playing, things like that all come in spurts. You'll get sick and tired of them, then you'll have a vision, or just a good rest, and come back swinging - all you think about is that again.

Hey Tiny, are you work as a professional software developer of some sort? Just wondering. If so, what type of work do you do?
If any of you have worked on software development, you'll understand pretty quickly that making milestones for a hobby project in which you don't get paid is pretty random.

Yeah, I'm a professional software engineer. My current job is to write software that controls mail sorting equipment for the USPS. Its good work, but the hours are long and at the end of the day more code is the last thing on my mind.
