Desolator, download Windower version 2.1, when you unzip the file you will have a directory with the following files.
hook.dll Launcher.exe Launch.bat
Make sure you edit the Launch.bat file to point to your
Launcher.exe "D:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\pol.exe"
See mine is on my D: drive, you're might be on the C: drive so just make sure it's pointing correctly to your POL.EXE file. Once you have confirmed this, double click on the puppy, and login.
Please have your Windows resolution larger than your game. For Example. My windows resolution is 1600x1200 but my game resolution is 1280x1024 so when it runs, the game loads up in the upper left corner of my windows desktop, hence the term Windower.
Hope this helps,
Metalo

I've just downloaded FFXI Windower, version 2.1 It doesn't work.
I didn't need to change the .bat file, the direction was correct.
I start Launch.bat -> it starts POL -> then I just loggin -> start FFXI. But it stays in Full screen.
I have changed my FFXI Resolution to 1024×768 cause my windows resolution is 1280×1024 as was mentioned on the site.
Am I doing something wrong? or is it because of updates or something that FFXI Windower doesn't work anymore?

It will "appear" to be in full screen, but it shouldn't be. Press the windows key, alt+tab, alt+esc, or ctrl+alt+del. If it just closes the window down like usual then I don't know what is wrong.

Windower is working phenomenally for me, but I use an AutoIT fishbot and wanted to know if my scripts will keep running even when the active window isn't ffxi.

I couldnt get the 2nd version to work either but i got the first version to work so im happy. As far as running a script with windower unless u have the window up its not going to work.

I'm having the same problem as Silver Haze. I've tried messing around with version 1.1, 2a, and 2.1, but none of them work for me so far. Changing the resolutions and graphics card settings hasn't worked either. I wonder if it is a problem with the newest client. Is anyone else able to use the windower atm? I'm using WinXP Pro w/ a geforce2 mx at 1024x768 destop, ffxi running at 800x600. No luck so far. I really want to get this working.

There have been several updates since I tried to use the windower. It might be busted again.

Well, the windower works by messing with direct3d at game load time. This shouldnt be effected by what video card you have.
