Hi All,
I'm new to the scripting scene. Last night was the first night I started looking into it. I enjoy FFXI and I think that a few well written scripts can enhance the game that much more for me.
I've been programming for about 5 years now in several languages; to name a few: C, C++, Java, Smalltalk, Prolog, Lisp, Perl, Haskell, assembly. I have a BS in CS and currently pursuing a masters in Distributed Systems.
Hopefully within a few weeks I can make a significant contribution to the community! ^^b

I'm as green as it comes to this stuff but it interests me and i like to learn new things, hopefully it won't be so far over my head i get pissed and bored after an hour

AutoIT is about as simple as they come for a basic scripting language.It shouldn't be too hard if you give it a few hours.

My basic experiance has been modifying in Halo, using a Hexa Decimel program. Have had tons of fun with that but somehow wasnt quite satisfied, I think im up for more of a challenge. So naturally going to try making some scripts of my own and testing them on FFXI  |

HEY I'm Vobent from Caitsith, I'm new to scripting. I have AutoIT FFACT and Ac tools, FFACT confuse me, I have new clue what to do (even though it gave me some nice info on my char and my targets)

Shorty is in da house! Woot..LS party over here Part of the reason I started playing FFXI was because a friend of mine purchased a bot from someone and I thought it would be fun to combine my love of RPG games and scripting. My first taste of programming was back in 1986 coding basicA on my dad's IBM PC/XT (only had a monochrome monitor back then). I wish I could say that I kept it up and I'm an UBER programmer but I'm not. It wasn't until about four years ago that I became interested in programming again. I've dabbled in Java (not javacript), Visual Basic (and a flavor of Visual Basic we have at work for macros) and HTML. For awhile I frequented www.javaranch.com while I honed my Java skills. The basics of my current FFXI code were taken from the rpgexpert website. (I have been too lazy to figure out pixel locations but am planning on correcting some bugs with that soon.) Basically I wiped out a bunch of useless code and changed the code to resemble OOP code I'm used too. To work around the anti-bot code within the game my script will log one character out and log the next character in. I have six characters and can flag one character to fish for 45mins, one to bazaar for an hour, another to fish..etc. Eventually I will expand this to also improve characters magic enhancing abilities, garden..etc. In January I will be back in College working towards my Bachelors in Computer Science. Unfortunately, I will not have as much time to level charcters and party within FFXI but I'll be able to work on my crafting and scripting. |

Well I've been registered for a week or so and for got to drop a line in here to tell who I am... I really don’t have a clue what I am doing in using these programs so ill have to learn.... sorry I couldn’t be a benefit to the forums of programming knowledge.
