What's the deal with FFACT? I've heard many things about it, such as it's horribly different than C++ and that it's buggy as hell...maybe you can allay some of these concerns?

Not many people really understand what FFACT is, so there is alot of misinformation going around. Its essentially a memory peeking tool that pulls game data out of FFXI memory at runtime. It lets you see what your hp, mp, and alot of other stuff is in scripts.

Hello...
I'm brand spankin' new to scripting. I'm an avid player of FFXI, and would like to learn about scripting. I found this board through the RPGex board, but never posted there. I felt that there was a lot of negative response to the less experienced scripter, and have seen some good information here on your board.

Heh, I don't mind new scripters at all! Just as long as you try to solve problems on your own before asking questions, you are more than welcome here. Please post questions if you have them!

Hey all, Udokai here from Caitsith. I really like how helpful everyone is on this forum, very cool. Well, I've got virtually no experience (none with autoIT) but I dinked around with Aeries' AFbot with FFact and got it to kill fished up mobs back before he had his posted (i think ^.~) but I was camping leaping lizzy for like 14 hours and said to myself, "There's got to be a better way..*ding* oh yeah, BOTS!!!" so I am here to learn and try to make a decent bot for Leeping Boots :s. wish me luck ^.~ (send me a /t if you're on caitsith ^^)

Well, you came to the right place. I hope to have a new version of autoterror out bu the end of the week that will make great speed improvements over previous versions. Should give Autoterror scripts an edge over the competition.

Lol j/k. I'm new to autoit (actually havnt even heard of it before yesterday) but I have taken about a half a year of visual basics which looks sorta similar but i cant tell. I would really like to learn this scripting language and maybe make some cool bots and stuff. Btw this forum is awsome O.o

Hello, everyone. I'm Genomage, and I used to make my home in the ACTools message board... however, due to a recent influx of "GiVEMeAboTpLZ" requests, I've been pushed to look for a new community to share with and learn from. After a brief perusal of this thread, I've found these forums to house the best collection of respectable, nurturing, and intellegent individuals that a learning programmer could ask for. Thanks for letting me join your ranks ^^
As for my personal experience... since I only started coding about a year ago, my first language (more or less) was Java. Since then, I've also become fluent in many of it's more useful parent languages, specifically C and C++ (well, I'm still getting a feel for many of the "colloquialisms" of C). I work on Mac as well as on PC, so I've also done some work with designing Cocoa & Carbon GUIs. As far as web/database-related stuff goes... I know my way around PHP decently well, and have used MySQL to a decent (though still rather minimal) extent. I'm looking forward to learning from my fellow programmers on this site, and sharing what little I can from my own experience.
